Important Study
:
A recent study by the Insurance Research Council revealed that auto accident injury claimants who hired a car accident lawyer received 3.5 times more than if they negotiated themselves with the insurance adjuster!

In 2006, there were nearly 6 million car wrecks on our nation's highways.  There were over 2.5 million injuries and nearly 50,000 fatalities.  Undoubtedly, automobile accidents are the most common cause of personal injury cases.  Yet, they are also the most mishandled.  Rarely will the guilty party admit fault - and even if they are willing, their insurance company will try to coach them into making it sound like your fault.  In fact, the insurance companies simply have one goal - to prevent your recovery.

Make no mistake, the insurance companies and their attorneys have become increasingly proficient in preventing or limiting your recovery.  This is especially true in MIST (minor impact - soft tissue) cases.  We know their tactics, and more importantly, we know how to defeat these tactics.

As with all injury cases, your personal injury lawyer's role begins immediately.  One of the most important things to do is to secure all evidence as soon as possible.  This includes a number of things such as securing statements from the witnesses, police officer, ambulance personnel, and most importantly, the defendant.  It is shocking how often the defendant's story will change once they have been coached by their insurance company.

How is it then that your injury attorney can make sure the truth becomes known, even if the defendant is less than honest?  Once your lawyer has secured the physical evidence and witness statements, it then becomes the role of the accident reconstructionist to examine the data and educate the jury as to who is truly at fault.

This is just one of the many tactics that we use to maximize your recovery.  Whether you have been in a small fender bender or a catastrophic multi-car collision, you need the protection of an injury attorney who specializes in auto accident cases.  If you have been injured in a car wreck, contact us today for a free consultation.

What To Do After a Car Accident

If you have any pain or injury after being in a car wreck, the first thing you need to do is go to the doctor - immediately!  Even if you think you just have a good case of whiplash, you will be much better off with treatment.  Whiplash is a condition where the muscles and tendons are stretched out and blood vessels burst and bleed into the muscle.  Without treatment, they will form scar tissue over time.  This will lead to a lifetime of increased pain and stiffness.  Of course, you may have a much more serious injury that needs immediate attention.  Often, auto accident victims are left with bad headaches that they think will go away.  It's only until weeks or months later that they discover they've suffered a head injury.

Also, if you wait for some time before beginning treatment, the insurance company will value your claim less.  They may not offer anything if enough time has passed.  Their argument is that, if you were really hurt, you would have went to the doctor immediately.

You need to make sure you go to the emergency room and follow up with your doctor for regular treatment sessions.
