For severe brain injury resulting in bleeding, surgery is often performed. Additionally, there are various procedures which involve removing part of the skull to allow swelling of the brain without compressing it.
In addition to these surgical procedures, there are a number of treatments to help develop coping skills. These include occupational, physical and speech therapy performed at a qualified cognitive rehabilitation center. These treatments are often performed in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team.
