Missouri & Illinois Motorcycle Accident Attorney
Most motorcycle accidents are caused by the inattention of other drivers. This usually occurs when a car or truck moves into the biker's lane. The common defense that we hear is that the driver could not see the motorcycle because it was in its blind spot. Of course, this really is no defense because drivers have a duty to be aware of their surroundings at all times. Unfortunately, when this doesn't happen, motorcycle wrecks often lead to very bad injuries. Because riders are often thrown from their motorcycles, injuries often include broken arms and legs. When motorcycles are hit by a semi-truck, the injuries are often much worse. These wrecks often result in brain and head injuries.
One area that we make sure to examine is the crashworthiness of the helmet. What many injury victims do not realize is that their helmet may have even contributed to their injuries. If the helmet is unreasonably dangerous for its purpose, there may also be a products liability claim against the manufacturer.
If you need to speak with a motorcycle injury lawyer, contact Josh Myers. It's always free to talk about a potential case. Additionally, the attorney's fees are a percentage of the final recovery so there is no hourly fee.
You Must Have This Insurance Coverage
If you drive a motorcycle, you need to do a lot more than wearing a good helmet to protect yourself. Most riders think "full coverage" insurance means they are fully protected - WRONG. It generally means you only have liability and property damage coverage. But what happens if the person who hits you doesn't have insurance or doesn't have enough to cover your injuries. Nobody wants to think about being in a motorcycle accident, but you need to fully protect yourself. You need to carry uninsured (UM), underinsured (UIM), and medical payments (med pay) insurance coverage. Many times, your insurance agent will not even tell you about these coverages - so ask for them specifically. Best of all, they are very cheap.
